Thank you for visiting my website. I am honored that you have stopped by. I hope you enjoy your visit.
I’ve been writing most of my life, but it wasn’t until 2010 that I finally completed my first novel. Until that time I used my fishing method of writing. I would write a piece, edit to death and then throw it back, repeating the process until I would get discouraged, pack it all up, throw in the towel, and go home. That’s right, with no fish, or in my case no finished work.
What changed in 2010 you ask? I discovered Nanowrimo. A friend an I took the 30 day challenge to write fifty-thousand words in a month. This provided the motivation to finally write “The End” on the last page of my first novel. Never one to back down on a dare, the Nano challenge gave me the push I needed to finish. I wrote, and wrote, and wrote. I couldn’t stop to edit or else lose valuable time. You’d be surprised how motivating it is to write fifty-thousand words in such a short time.
If you have always dreamed of writing a novel, try it, you might find you’re a winner too. It’s surprising to see how many authors get their start through Nanowrimo.
The past couple years I have been writing the sequel to my first novel. Deadly Deception is due to be released soon. I am also currently working on another novel about a young girl’s diaries and how they are impacting people more than half a century later. I also write poetry which has appeared in serveral anthologies. My poem, I Thought I Saw You, a tribute to my son, won first place in a poetry contest. I hope to one day publish a book of poetry.
My first novel, Let Sleeping Dogs Lie, is receiving a make-over. It will also be re-released this month under the title, Deadly Discovery, and it will also have a new cover.
In my spare time, I also moderate a local writers group. We meet monthly to discuss writing, improve our craft, and provide motivation.
